Grape King Bio's Chairman, Dr.Sheng-Lin Andrew Tseng, obtained an MSc in Business Management from Strathclyde University in the UK. He then went on to complete a PhD. in Marketing at Strathclyde University, focusing on cultural differences and product innovation.
After graduating Andrew remained in England to work, firstly for a Taiwanese public limited company, Elitegroup Computer Systems in the role of UK Marketing Manager. Two years later he was promoted to the position of Pan European Marketing Director where he was responsible for planning and executing the European marketing strategy in various countries. Andrew stayed in the role for three years before joining one of the UK’s leading procurement consultancy firms, Proxima in London in the role of Marketing Manager. Here he was responsible for setting up a marketing department and team to help build the company's brand image and promote their services.
In October 2010, by request of Andrew's father who is the founder of Grape King Bio, Andrew returned to Taiwan and started working for the family business in the role of Executive Assistant to The Chairman. His first challenge was to look at Grape King Bio's operations and so began the strategic planning and transformation of this 42 year old company. Using the experience gained from working in Europe, Andrew has been able to make many positive changes for both employees and company operations. July 2013 Andrew was promoted to Executive Vice President where he was responsible for strategically guiding company operations and planning to ensure impressive growth in revenue and profit. Despite many industry challenges, the company share price has climbed by 5 to 8 times since 2010. In November 2014 Andrew was elected by the Board Members of Grape King to take over the role C.E.O. and Chairman.
In recognition of the successful transformation of Grape King Bio, Andrew was awarded with the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year "In Transition Benchmarking Entrepreneur Award" in November 2013. In the same year he was also awarded as one of the top 100 managers in 2013 by MVP Magazine in Taiwan. Grape King Bio has also been continuously listed on both 2014 & 2015 Forbes Asia’s Best Under a Billion list. In October 2015 Andrew was awarded with Asia Pacific Entrepreneurship Awards 2015 – Taiwan ‘Most Promising Category’.
